Project Objective

After designing the new Argos Compare website, The Black Hole were tasked with creating an email campaign that would drive traffic to the new site and deliver Argos’ latest products and great deals.

What we did

As with any website launch, the challenge is driving pre-qualified traffic and generating high conversion rates as a result. However, Argos Compare has a strong offering that people need to know about.

The campaign consisted of 3 different emails, each with their own purpose. Each email included a different lead promotion aimed at a different customer. As a result, we had to carefully consider the marketing message with our in-house design specialists in order to achieve the maximum response from this project. Once the emails were broadcasted to 2.7 million recipients, we eagerly awaited the results.

Each email generated more than 41% more revenue compared to last year, with one email generating more than 78% more revenue. Overall, all three emails generated 63% more revenue, turning this into one of our most successful email marketing campaigns.

Project Objective

In the very competitive share trading market, Halifax Share Dealing required a communication strategy to acquire new customers for their online trading platform.

What we did

With more banks and financial institutions providing broker or share dealing services, the marketing activity in the financial sector is more active than ever. New trading incentives are launched every week with everybody claiming they are the market leader.

The Black Hole was tasked with differentiating Halifax Share Dealing from the competition with an email campaign that delivers measurable results. The incentive in this campaign was a £200 trading credit if the customer places more than 10 stock trades. We came up with a cutting edge campaign that taps into our customer insight and gave compelling reasons for traders to sign up for a share dealing account. 

Strategically placed information architecture was built to logically lead the customer through the content, informs them of the offer and what they have to do to benefit. Even though we were restricted to the client’s template design, we utilised the space effectively and delivered the results. Indeed, 44% of new accounts traded within the 55 day period and 35% traded more than 10 times.

The challenge was to design and develop an impactful email campaign to drive quality traffic to the new MyArgosCard.co.uk website and various landing pages – and register for an Argos Card.

What we did

The challenge with this email campaign was to include a lot of product benefits and information. However, at the same time, we didn’t want to overpopulate with too much content and make it overwhelming.

Through strategic email design and compelling copywriting, we managed to create a solution that not only informs the recipient about the Argos Card and its benefits – but also mirrors the warm and enthusiastic Argos brand values. 

Landing pages were designed to accompany the email campaign and in unison worked fantastically to deliver above target results for our client. In the first month alone the number of registrations reached 14,000 – 9,000 above Argos’ target!
